Thakkar Family Law is proud to announce that Founding Partner Megha R. Thakkar has been selected to receive the Edward Schoifet Award, the highest honor presented by the Family Law Section of the Middlesex County Bar Association.
About the Schoifet Award
The Schoifet Award commemorates the legacy of Edward Schoifet, who passed away in 2006 and was recognized as the dean of the Middlesex County Family Bar. The Family Law Section presents this award annually to a family law practitioner who has been engaged in the practice for 15 years or more.
Recipients consistently demonstrate the core principles by which Ed practiced law:
- Maintaining thorough knowledge of past and present case law to advise clients fully.
- Analyzing case facts with detail and diligence, applying the law carefully to each situation.
- Presenting issues and applicable law in ways clients can understand.
- Making purposeful efforts to settle matters fairly before pursuing litigation.
- Fostering respect and courtesy for the bench and fellow lawyers.
- Maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
- Exhibiting leadership within the Bar Association.
