Founder Megha R. Thakkar, Esq., will serve as a panelist at the NJICLE Child Custody Symposium on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick. The program will also be available online.
Megha will participate in the panel discussion, “Safety as a Threshold Issue,” as part of the full-day program examining New Jersey’s amended child custody statute and its impact on family law practice.
Presented in cooperation with the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Section, the symposium brings together family law attorneys, judges, and mental health professionals for five panel discussions addressing the statute changes. Topics will include emerging legal issues, differing interpretations of the amendments, and practical considerations for handling custody matters at each stage. Attendees can earn up to 6.7 CLE credits.
Megha represents clients in all aspects of family law and is a qualified R. 1:40 family law mediator and Parenting Coordinator. As a Middlesex County and Somerset County Family Court Early Settlement Panelist, she helps clients and the courts evaluate financial and legal issues and resolve contested family law matters. Her practice also includes complex equitable distribution cases involving closely held businesses, stocks, and public and private retirement and pension plans.
Megha chairs the Middlesex County Bar Association’s Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee and serves on both the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Executive Committee and the Middlesex County Family Law Executive Committee.
